Six Sojourns is a quick area control game.
Your goal in Six Sojourns is to increase the influence of your family. Players take turns selecting one card from five in the market display. Each card will let players grow their family and broaden their influence in different ways. These cards also give each player unique ways to score.  During a game, each player only select nine cards, so you need to be smart about the cards you choose and how you implement their actions.

Six Sojourns is a reimagining of Red Raven’s third published game, Eight-Minute Empire. In this quick-to-learn and instantly hooked game, each player starts with one house and two family members. On your turn you select a card from five in the market. Each card has actions that let players build houses, gain ships, grow your family, move, gain resources, and provides end-of-game bonus points. The more land you control, the more victory points you earn at the end of the game, but don’t forget about the resources or end-of-game bonus points.

Six Sojourns has some significant differences from Eight-Minute Empire:

  • Six Sojourns has a larger board, more cards, more maps, and 12 expansions included. 
  • Family members can be moved in groups (instead of one at a time), allowing for more dynamic strategies.
  • Six Sojourns incorporates ships that players can build to travel between islands. If you don’t have a ship, you can pay to use another player’s ship for a cost. 
  • Every space you control at the end of the game gives you points, including sea spaces. 
  • Houses (which replace cities) are worth two influence, and only one house can be built on each space.
